A man shaped not by prophecy, but by the brutal arithmetic of power. Sixty-five summers have hollowed his cheeks but sharpened his rule. Domiar speaks rarely — and when he does, the room listens.
He does not wear a crown.
He does not need one.
His robes are deep crimson and purple, the colours of old blood and older law.
A phoenix is etched into the gold of his signet ring — near worn smooth, still fused with the trace of his mother’s blood.
Domiar does not believe in mercy.
He believes in judgement.
And the throne does not forget.
Author notes
Going with the flow:
Domiar is a man holding the realm together through ancient tradition — a weight that grows heavier with each passing month. He isn’t blind to the rot beneath the surface, but power, legacy, and duty have bound him to a system too brittle to reform and too sacred to discard. He knows the Senate holds just enough influence to undermine him — and that all it would take is a single overreach to loosen his grip on power.
He’s not written as a Julius Caesar analogue. In fact, "A Tale from the Unbound Realm"marks my first time writing a true monarchy — and with Domiar, I’m letting the character unfold through the weight of the world around him. Less about conquest, more about endurance.
The Warhammer 40k Connection:
At the time of writing, I was not aware that the name Valcoran has ties to the Warhammer 40K universe. The name was generated using ChatGPT as part of a brainstorming session to shape the royal family of the Imperium in "A Tale of the Unbound Realm"
It stuck — phonetically sharp, regal, and fitting for a decaying Empire — and became the backbone of my own worldbuilding. Any overlap is entirely coincidental.
The Valcorans in this universe are wholly original: flawed, human, and burdened by the weight of survival, legacy, and internal decay.
This series is not affiliated with Warhammer or Games Workshop in any way.
My only familiarity with the 40K universe is through Space Marine II.
